Responsibilities

We are hiring a Diving Safety Supervisor for a new program in San Diego, CA. Work will be performed onsite.

This role will have the opportunity deal with Naval Marine Mammal programs. Training dolphins and sealions to assist the Navy with mine counter measures.

What you will do:

Plan, monitor and supervise all diving operations to ensure safety protocols are followed
Conduct risk assessments and develop operational diving plans for training and deployment missions
Maintain certification as a U.S. Navy Diving Supervisor and Marine Mammal Subject Matter Expert
Oversee maintenance and operation of dive systems, equipment, boats, and facilities
Manage inventory, inspect, and test diving equipment for serviceability
Train and instruct marine mammal handlers and support personnel in diving regulations, procedures, and techniques
Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. Navy diving instructions, OSHA regulations and marine laws
Develop emergency management plans and standard operating procedures
Investigate diving incidents/accidents and implement corrective actions
Maintain comprehensive logs and reports on diving activities
Qualifications

What you'll need:

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Education: Must have a High School Diploma and 5 years experience
10+ years of military/civilian diving experience, with at least 5 years supervising diving operations
Extensive knowledge of diving physics, physiology, equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
Desired Skills:

Certification as a U.S. Navy Diving Supervisor and Marine Mammal Subject Matter Expert
Prior experience working with marine mammals preferred
Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving abilitiesTarget Salary Range
