Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Owner with strong experience in pharmacy, PBM, or specialty pharmacy products. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, business teams, and engineering to define, prioritize, and deliver innovative healthcare technology solutions that enhance patient outcomes, optimize pharmacy workflows, and support value-based care initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, pharmacy operations, PBM clients, and the development team.

Define, document, and manage the product backlog for pharmacy and PBM-related products.

Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed specifications.

Prioritize backlog items based on business value, regulatory compliance, and technical feasibility.

Partner with business analysts, pharmacists, and IT teams to design and enhance pharmacy workflows, claims processing, formulary management, and benefit designs.

Ensure products comply with pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and PBM standards.

Collaborate with QA and UAT teams to validate solutions meet requirements and deliver value.

Analyze market trends, PBM models, and competitor offerings to drive product innovation.

Provide subject matter expertise on pharmacy systems, adjudication engines, and PBM operations.

Communicate product vision, roadmap, and updates to executive stakeholders and clients.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst in pharmacy or PBM domain.

Knowledge of PBM workflows such as:

Pharmacy claims processing & adjudication

Formulary & benefit design

Prior authorization and utilization management

Specialty pharmacy operations

Strong understanding of healthcare standards: HIPAA, NCPDP, Medicare Part D, Medicaid.

Ability to gather requirements, write user stories, and manage product backlogs in Agile/Scrum environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps,
