Job Title: Senior Technical Deployment Manager
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 8+ Months (With Possible Extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Deployment Manager to oversee environment management, deployment operations, troubleshooting, and release coordination for large-scale enterprise applications within the Social Services domain. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams and external vendors to ensure availability, stability, and timely delivery of development, QA, training, and production environments.
The Deployment Manager will lead application deployments, facilitate environment triage sessions, drive root-cause analysis, and champion continuous improvement through automation and DevOps best practices. This position also supports Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, user story creation, and the removal of development roadblocks. Supervising or mentoring junior team members may be part of the role.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical leadership skills, deep experience in CI/CD processes, and advanced problem-solving abilities across complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage environment planning, configuration, deployment, and release operations for enterprise applications.
Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors to maintain timely and stable environments across development, testing, training, and production.
Lead environment triage, conduct detailed root-cause analysis, and ensure timely issue resolution.
Promote and implement automation and DevOps practices to improve reliability and deployment efficiency.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to user story creation, and assist in backlog refinement.
Maintain detailed deployment plans, environment schedules, technical documentation, and readiness reports.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior staff; supervise team members when required.
Work closely with product teams, architects, QA, and development teams to align on release schedules and environment needs.
Use diagnostic and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace) to identify issues proactively.
Communicate environment status, risks, blockers, and mitigation strategies clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Provide on-call support as needed to ensure environment uptime and deployment success.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience analyzing and resolving complex technical issues.
8+ years of experience supporting and training end users across all organizational levels.
8+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years supporting large-scale Agile development initiatives.
PMI-ACP certification (preferred).
PMP certification (preferred).
Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Jira, MS Project, and similar tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills with distributed, multi-tier system architectures.
