Job Overview:
We are seeking a Firmware Software Engineer IV to join our team in Redmond, Washington. This role involves working onsite to help define the worldwide standard for extended reality (XR) interaction through unparalleled software that accelerates research and creates innovative devices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with researchers, firmware engineers, and other software engineers to develop Android OS implementations for research devices.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with researchers, firmware engineers, and other software engineers to define and develop Android OS implementations for research devices.
- Work on drivers, system services, and integrations with firmware from additional SoCs.
- Develop software stacks to provide access and control of novel sensor streams both on- and off-device.
- Serve as a link between the team and researchers to accelerate research progress and inform strategic plans to align with future research needs.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of work experience with C/C++/C#.
- 3+ years of work experience in AOSP development.
- 2+ years of experience with Java (or Kotlin).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience developing software for games, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other high-performance real-time environments.
- Experience with high-bandwidth communication.
- Experience with camera integration.
- Experience with low-level firmware and RTOS.
