Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Software Asset Manager to lead and improve our Software Asset Management practices. Your focus will be on managing the full lifecycle of software assets driving value, cutting costs, and reducing risk across the organization.

You will work closely with procurement, product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure software assets are tracked, managed, and used effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the adoption of Software Asset Management best practices

  • Partner with the procurement team on software purchases and renewals

  • Work with product owners and architects to make sure they are involved throughout the process

  • Identify and remove duplicate software tools or licenses to save cost

  • Enforce policies around software acquisition, use, and retirement

  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all software assets

  • Oversee data cleanup, collection, and migration into asset tracking systems

  • Train users on how to use asset management tools

  • Create and share regular reports on software inventory, usage, compliance, and cost

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of asset management policies and processes

  • Keep stakeholders updated on progress and challenges


Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of experience in IT asset management, ideally in a large tech company

  • 6 or more years specifically managing software assets


Preferred:

  • Experience designing software asset management processes

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Asset Management

  • Experience working with software vendors

  • Strong organization, communication, and people skills

  • Proven track record of leading cross team initiatives

  • Comfortable juggling priorities and managing expectations

  • Good at solving problems and analyzing data

  • Focused on creating great user experiences through smart processes

  • Familiar with SOX compliance practices
