Job Details
Job Title: Release Train Engineer
Duration: up to 12 months contract [Full time during summer and change to part-time to resume school in the fall]
Location: Work from Home / Remote Work
Work Schedule: 4/10 Schedule
Pay Rate: $95/hr 100/hr on W2 [the pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications]

Job Description:
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools
- Communicate and manage the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events
- Facilitate the PI planning event
- Support the creation of Team PI Objectives and Program PI Objectives (the ART) and upload them into Agile Hive tool
- Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities
- Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
- Help manage risks and dependencies
- Escalate and track impediments
- Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
- Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
- Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
- Work with the Program Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence (see Lean Portfolio Management)
- Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails
- Facilitate System Demos
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
- Foster Communities of Practice
Skills Required:
- Minimum 8 years experience in a Release Train Engineer role:
- SAFe RTE certification
- Experience in a full SAFe transformation
- Experience with scheduling and facilitating PI Planning events
- Intermediate to advanced Jira experience
- Experience setting up and maintaining Communities of Practice
- Able to write JQL queries
- Familiar with Jira plugins such as Structure and Agile Hive
