Summary

Job Title: Release Train Engineer

Duration: up to 12 months contract [Full time during summer and change to part-time to resume school in the fall]

Location: Work from Home / Remote Work

Work Schedule: 4/10 Schedule

Pay Rate: $95/hr 100/hr on W2 [the pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications]

Job Description:

Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools
Communicate and manage the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events
Facilitate the PI planning event
Support the creation of Team PI Objectives and Program PI Objectives (the ART) and upload them into Agile Hive tool
Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities
Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync
Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
Help manage risks and dependencies
Escalate and track impediments
Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
Work with the Program Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence (see Lean Portfolio Management)
Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails
Facilitate System Demos
Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
Foster Communities of Practice

Skills Required:

Minimum 8 years experience in a Release Train Engineer role:
SAFe RTE certification
Experience in a full SAFe transformation
Experience with scheduling and facilitating PI Planning events
Intermediate to advanced Jira experience
Experience setting up and maintaining Communities of Practice
Able to write JQL queries
Familiar with Jira plugins such as Structure and Agile Hive
