Job Opportunity: Cloud Security Engineer

Our client is a Fintech Startup located just outside of Hartford, CT and they are expanding quickly! They run a hybrid AWS/Azure environment and are looking for somebody who can take the reigns and integrate some security tooling into their environment. This role can be fully remote with occasional travel to Hartford.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Architecting and implementing robust security measures for our cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential threats.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the development and deployment processes.
  • Monitoring for and responding to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices to ensure our systems remain at the forefront of security innovation.
  • Participating in the design and implementation of secure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contributing to security documentation and providing training to team members on security practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in cloud security, including hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with container security and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols and security technologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic startup environment.
