  • Remote, Resource will be required to attend in-person meetings occasionally in the Albany office.
  • 5% travel required

Initiative: NEIS Transformation and Replacement Project

This Business Analyst role will be supporting the Strategic Operations Team by working with stakeholders on the NEIS Transformation Project designing, implementing, and improving business processes as well as accomplishing other relevant tasks, such as assisting with testing and UAT, to help with the implementation of a new system.

Tasks

  • Collaborate with business leads and other business analysts to develop and transform requirements into systems design and implementation;
  • Collect, document, map, and analyze business process and system dependencies;
  • Gather, synthesize, and document business requirements;
  • Effectively communicate status, collaborate, and problem-solve with relevant organizational stakeholders and contracted system implementation team;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify recommendations for process improvements;
  • Quality assurance and defining testing strategies and risks;
  • Contribute to the testing of system integrations and configurations;
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with system vendor and internal NYSERDA staff;
  • Track task and milestone completion;
  • Document and monitor project risk;
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between system vendors and internal teams;
  • Note-taking and notes consolidation;
  • Assist in the development of training resources to support implementations and reengineered processes;
  • Assist with organizational change management related communications and initiatives;

Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience with ERP implementation and organizational change management (a plus)
  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping skills
  • Ability to create visual aids (e.g., Microsoft Visio) for business processes
  • Proficiency with project management methods, processes, and tools
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) to work with executives, managers, SMEs, and vendors
  • Analytical skills to distinguish true requirements vs. non-critical requests
  • Collaboration & facilitation skills to work across internal and external stakeholders
