Location: Charlotte, NC
Salary: $70,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
SUPERVISOR
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of mechanical technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including machinery used in film extrusion, converting, and packaging.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment longevity.
Diagnose mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
Ensure all mechanical work complies with safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
Train and mentor mechanical personnel, enhancing their technical skills and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize equipment performance and support new product development.
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for mechanical components.
Document all maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and repair histories.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance mechanical processes and efficiency.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in a mechanical supervisory or lead technician role within a manufacturing environment, ideally in plastics, packaging, or a continuous process industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical failures.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with plastics extrusion, thermoforming, or converting equipment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Certifications in mechanical maintenance or related fields.
Experience with welding and fabrication.
Salary depends on experience, but is very competitive.
