TEKsystems is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to support Marine Reserve units throughout the New England area with various hardware repair, installation, and imaging as well on-site support as needed at Westover Joint Reserve Air Force Base, MA.

Managing the intake of desktop computers needing repair/ re-imaging
Booting external hard drive imaging onto desktops, testing and validating imaging, and the redeployment of assets
Rolling out software upgrades, shipping out hardware to Marines that need new equipment, etc.
Tier 1-2 troubleshooting on issues escalated from the site
CUSTOMER JOB DESCRIPTION:
Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment, including MS server, Defense Message Systems, and other authorized IT systems.
Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain hardware and software for network services, storage networking devices, and servers. Integrate multiple information systems in a networked environment, evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, effect required hardware upgrades and repair to maintain mission capability.
Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, and various transmission media, server hardware and software, and ensure the proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for efficient operation on the network.
Install, optimize and troubleshoot Local Area and Base Area Networks. Familiar with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT.

The IT Support Specialist is a stand alone resource supporting units throughout the New England region. They will be working with various unit needs, priorities, and requirements. They will need to manage the influx of assets and deployment of assets to the field ina timely manner. Organization and communication of timeline for repair is important for this role.

The pay range for this position is $32.61 - $33.65/hr.
