Job Details

Design and develop applications Pyramid Consulting Group Inc has a banking client with an immediate need for an experienced MAINFRAME DEVELOPER with the following background and skills:

Must Have Technical Skills:
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
Experience with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and Endevor
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Flex Skills:
Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices is a plus
Experience in financial services or insurance industry is preferred
Working knowledge of Client's PEP+ platform.
API development experience, including but not limited to using z/OS Connect

Degrees/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, in a related field, or 6+ years work experience in mainframe development

Roles and Responsibilities:
Translating business requirements into technical specifications and creating new applications or modifying existing ones.
Writing code in languages like COBOL, JCL, and Easytrieve; and rigorously testing the code for bugs and performance issues.
Working with other developers, project managers, and business analysts to ensure seamless integration of systems.
Maintaining existing applications, working customer support tickets to resolve issues, and ensuring the stability of the system.
Identifying and resolving application issues, optimizing performance, and improving the overall efficiency of the mainframe environment.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation for applications and processes.
Ensuring adherence to coding standards and industry best practices.
Ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards
