The Facilities Management Applications Specialist will provide essential support for Trimble eBuilder Project Management System. The position is a key player in planning, implementing, testing, and managing this application to meet the needs of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and to help improve productivity. This involves a combination of systems analysis, data extraction, report generation, and problem-solving. Duties require strong interpersonal skills using both written and verbal communication working with department staff, college staff, consultants and contractors.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of enterprise software and custom applications, including system maintenance, user support, troubleshooting issues, and prioritization of requested enhancements.
  • Skill in developing and delivering training materials, user guides, and providing end-user support
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe products and/or other automated office tools.
  • Experience supporting, administering, or maintaining enterprise software systems, including system configuration, user support, report development, and security.
  • Substantial knowledge, skill and ability in facilities-related recordkeeping and public procurement practices.

Additional Considerations

  • Significant computer expertise.
  • Knowledge of Trimble Unity eBuilder or similar project management systems.
  • Coursework completed in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience in capital outlay administration and/or public sector procurement in a higher education or government agency environment.
  • Hands-on experience using e-Builder or similar enterprise project management system

This position is defined as a restricted classified position and is dependent upon the continuation of funding. The individual hired will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
