Title: Senior Information Security Architect
Location: Orange County, CA
Target Start Date: 4/14/2025
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
Pay Rate: $70-92 per hour

Job Description:
This role supports a growing enterprise security architecture team focused on protecting complex cloud and hybrid environments. The Senior Information Security Architect will lead the design and oversight of secure systems spanning cloud, application, data, identity, and network domains. This position collaborates with infrastructure, development, DevSecOps, and governance teams to embed security controls and frameworks into tech initiatives from day one. It's a strategic, hands-on role perfect for someone passionate about aligning security with business goals and staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies.

Required Skills:
- 5+ years in information security with 3+ years focused on security architecture
- Proven experience designing and reviewing complex architectures across cloud (AWS, Azure), hybrid, and on-prem environments
- Deep understanding of identity and access management (IAM), threat modeling, encryption/key management, and defense-in-depth strategies
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, AWS, Azure, and cloud-native security tooling
- Hands-on knowledge of SDLC security, secure coding, SAST/DAST, and API security
- Experience with WAFs, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC, DMZs, and DDoS mitigation
- Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001/27002, and PCI DSS
- CISSP certification required; cloud certs (AWS, Azure) preferred

- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and governance boards
- Experience creating security baselines, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks
- Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize initiatives based on risk and business value
