RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Network Administrator to join their team in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
* Deploy, monitor, and maintain edge computing nodes and micro data centers
* Optimize edge network performance for low-latency applications
* Collaborate with DevOps and IoT teams to support edge-based workloads
Switch Management & Configuration:
* Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switches (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.)
* Implement VLANs, trunking, STP, port security, and QoS policies
* Maintain accurate documentation of switch configurations and network topology
Patching & Updates:
* Develop and execute patch management strategies for network devices
* Schedule and apply firmware and software updates with minimal downtime
* Monitor for vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
* Use network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG) to detect and resolve issues
* Analyze logs and performance metrics to proactively address potential problems
* Respond to network outages and incidents with root cause analysis and resolution
Security & Compliance:
* Enforce network access controls and firewall rules
* Support audits and ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
* Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate threats at the edge
REQUIREMENTS:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred
* Experience: 3+ years in network administration with a focus on edge computing and switch management
* Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise switches and routers
* Experience with edge computing platforms (e.g., AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge)
* Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and network security protocols
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication and documentation abilities
* Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
