The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a(n) Product Engineer - Trizact & Finesse-it Solutions, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Optimizing products by driving Product and Process Understanding (PPU) efforts, leading strategic raw material substitution projects and supporting cost reduction projects
• Ensuring consistent product performance and stability of existing products through maintaining product standards and specs, owning claims re-substantiation process,
• leading/supporting change management process and validating product performance for changes in formulation, process or raw materials
• Driving scale-up activities as a core team member for new product introductions
• Developing and implementing product control plans
• Collaborating with cross functional teams (product development, application engineering, business, manufacturing and quality teams), global laboratories and manufacturing sites
• Utilizing strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team members

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Experience in process or product engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
• Current, valid Driver's License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution
• One (1) year of combined experience working in Quality and/or Manufacturing/Production in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience with product/technology development and/or product engineering on a global basis
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Analysis
• Experience with scaling up technology and/or products to large scale manufacturing
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity and change

Work location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $81,983 - $100,202, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
