Aeronautical Engineer

Salary: $90.00 USD Hourly - $140.00 USD Hourly
Description:

We are seeking an experienced Aeronautical Engineer to lead integration and design oversight for advanced weapon systems, including AGM-158 XR (JASSM/LRASM) Flex family, AGM-183 (ARRW), NXGB/Razor, and other strike weapon development programs. This role involves cross-disciplinary leadership, design synthesis, and technical coordination across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for weapon systems across multiple platforms, including Preliminary Design (PDR) and Critical Design (CDR) reporting.
• Conduct cross-discipline trade studies (CAIV, affordability, producibility).
• Manage Drawing Release, CCB support, change management, and production coordination.
• Provide supplier technical coordination, MRB oversight, FRB support, and SOW scope tracking.
• Integrate disciplines such as aerodynamics (including hypersonic), propulsion (rocket and air-breathing), thermodynamics, electronics, actuation systems, and structural analysis.
• Oversee materials and processes for high-temperature applications (C-C composites, TZM, Rene alloys).
• Utilize CATIA V5 for computer-aided design and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Support BA capture activities, program planning, proposal development, cost estimation, and BoE generation.
• Present technical and administrative materials to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with CATIA V5.
• Extensive experience with metallic and composite materials.
• Proven hypersonic design experience, including ARRW glide body and MRB authority.
• Previous experience leading a team of designers.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with air-breathing, hypersonic, and boost-glider platforms.
• Familiarity with affordability and producibility trade studies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
