KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Data Engineer: Snowflake DW + Matillion + APIs (any tool) + cloud (AWS, Azure, etc) req; data streaming (Kafka or similar) is a +
YOU MUST HAVE 1+ YEAR OF MATILLION AND 2-3+ YEARS OF SNOWFLAKE CLOUD DW TO BE CONSIDERED.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this data engineering position, you should have strong programming and analytical skills to effectively combine data from various sources, including both batch and real-time streams. In this role, you will design and develop data solutions that support analytics, application development, and data science efforts.
- Work closely with Data product owner and BSA to thoroughly understand the business user stories
- Work with the Data Architect to accurately interpret the data modeling and design the data flow
- Develop ELT data pipeline to load data from various data sources to data lake and data warehouse and apply complex business logic to populate normalized and denormalized data structure
- Design and implement real-time data streaming solutions
- Build reusable components for a scalable data integration methodology such as error handling, logging, and recoverability
- Participate in the data modeling / schema design
- Perform and support query development and optimization
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree, especially one that's relevant is a plus.
- Relevant certifications are a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering role focusing on Data Warehouse development
- Proven experience with Matillion ETL (1+ year of experience)
- 2-3+ years of data warehousing with Snowflake Cloud Data warehouse
- Experience with MS SQL &/or SSIS is required (can be dated)
- Expertise in SQL programming and query optimization.
- Proficient in programming languages, especially SQL and Python
- Skilled in integration data from disparate sources via API (can be with any tech/tool)
- Proficiency in real-time streaming technologies like Kafka or comparable is a big plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with source control (BitBucket, Git, or GitHub for example)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work.
- Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focused.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited information.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members of the business community.

- Possess the intellectual curiosity to work through ambiguity and have ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
- Ability to manage change and do extremely well in a fast-paced environment under time constraints.

- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to effectively and succinctly simplify complex data and communicate information to Senior Management.
- Customer service oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $130-160K plus bonus. However, we are willing to send qualified candidates over budget.
