Job Description:

Highly skilled and experienced Cloud SOC Consultant to support our cybersecurity operations team in enhancing and standardizing our cloud security monitoring capabilities.

This role will focus on building and optimizing SOC workflows, integrating cloud-native and third-party logging into our SIEM, developing use cases, and establishing SOPs, metrics, and continuous improvement strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both Azure and AWS security engineering and architecture, and a strong background in SOC operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

What you'll get to do
  • Evaluate current Cloud SOC monitoring processes, tools, and coverage across AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Define and document standardized SOC workflows and processes specific to cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • Work closely with the engineering team, architects, DevOps to design and enhance log ingestion pipelines into the SIEM.
  • Build and optimize detection use cases tailored for cloud threats (e.g., Anomaly, IAM misuse, misconfigurations, data exfiltration).
  • Establish and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cloud security incident response.
  • Collaborate with SOC analysts and engineers to define and document incident response workflows.
  • Provide guidance on tuning detections, enrichment strategies, and threat modeling for Azure and AWS.
  • Define key metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of cloud SOC monitoring and process adherence.
  • Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with MITRE ATT&CK for Cloud, and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with the internal SOC team to upskill capabilities and ensure sustainability.
  • Integrate threat intelligence feeds into cloud security monitoring tools to enhance the detection and response capabilities.
  • Assess the viability and applicability of security technologies as they become available.


EDUCATIONAL/SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Skill and Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science, Information Security, plus years related experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity with at least 3 years focused on cloud SOC and cloud security engineering role.
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud platforms - Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) - including logging services (e.g., CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, etc.) and hands-on on cloud-native security controls.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge in the following: Network security, public cloud infrastructure controls including next generation firewalls, proxies, advanced malware controls, CNAPP, CIEM, CSPM, KSPM, XDR, IDS/IPS, CASB, Cloud Proxy, DLP, MFA, cloud automation and management tools.
  • Hands-on experience designing or implementing cloud security detections and integrating cloud log sources into SIEM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK for Cloud, cloud threat modeling, and incident response.
  • Experience with scripting or infrastructure as code (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Terraform) is a plus.
