Job Title: Solutions Architect
Location: Richmond, VA(Hybrid)
Duration: Long term Contract
Solutions Architect / Business Solutions Analyst to design, implement, and document enterprise technology solutions. This position blends technical architecture expertise with strong business analysis skills, supporting both SaaS solutions (e.g., Box, Adobe) and PaaS platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform). The role requires developing and maintaining highly technical documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Architecture Overview Documents (AODs) in compliance with Commonwealth security and architecture standards, including SEC-530 and EA-225.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and enterprise architects to capture requirements, design solutions, and ensure technology alignment with agency objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience designing enterprise and solution architectures, including integration of SaaS, PaaS, and hybrid/cloud solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud platforms
- Strong experience with business and technical requirements gathering, business process modeling, and data mapping.
- Demonstrated ability to produce solution design artifacts (e.g., conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams; data models; sequence diagrams).
- Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
- Familiarity with API protocols and schemas (SOAP, REST).
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation such as SSPs, AODs, and security/architecture compliance documents.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages) in an enterprise setting.
- Familiarity with Box Content Management, Adobe Management Platform, and other enterprise SaaS solutions.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia IT governance, including SEC-530 and EA-225 requirements.
- Experience converting business requirements into process flows, functional specifications, and RFP documentation.
- Ability to design and implement enterprise security and technology patterns.
- Competency in developing roadmaps and strategies aligned to agency KPIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work creatively in a team environment.
