ILS is looking for a Sr. ODI/OAS Developer to support one of our projects in Washington, DC. This resource will be responsible for designing Enterprise-level solutions for multi-dimensional databases, will design and plan BI solutions, execute strategies for database backup, and provide documentation implementation and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
BI Solutions Development: Design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence solutions using OBIEE/OAS, integrating data through ODI. Report & Dashboard Creation: Develop and deploy OAS/OBIEE reports, dashboards, and analyses tailored to business requirements. Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business users to gather and analyze BI requirements.
ETL Development: Create and maintain ODI interfaces, packages, and mappings for efficient data integration and transformation. Performance Optimization: Enhance the performance of OAS/OBIEE queries and ODI ETL processes. Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues related to OAS/OBIEE reports, dashboards, and ODI workflows. Technical Support: Provide guidance and support to junior developers and business users. Industry Awareness: Stay informed about the latest OAS/OBIEE and ODI features, best practices, and industry trends.
Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues by tracing problems to their root causes. This includes analyzing logs, performance metrics, and system behavior. Use a structured approach to problem-solving, such as isolating components, checking dependencies, and replicating issues. Ability to collaborate with other team members, including DBA, application developers, and business analysts, to solve complex problems. Willingness to share knowledge and best practices with peers and junior developers to improve overall team problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated expertise in OAS/OBIEE development, implementation, and support.
- Reporting Skills: Proven experience with OBIEE Reports, Answers, and Dashboards.
- Metadata Design: Proficient in RPD/metadata design and development.
- Data Modeling: Solid understanding of star-schema, snowflake schema, FACT tables, and multi-dimensional data modeling & OLTP Relational models.
- Security & Administration: Experience with OAS/OBIEE security, administration, and authentication.
- ETL Tools: Working knowledge of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for ETL processes, including designing, and developing ETL processes, interfaces, and mappings.
- SQL/PL-SQL: Strong skills in SQL and PL/SQL, including data analysis, manipulation, and performance tuning.
- Database Experience: Familiarity with Oracle databases and data warehousing concepts.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- OAS/OBIEE Expertise: Proven experience with OAS/OBIEE architecture, components, and administration.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required.
Optional Skills
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data integration tools or platforms could be a plus.
- Additional Tools: Familiarity with other ETL or integration tools beyond ODI (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) may be beneficial.
- Project Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing and executing ETL projects, including requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
- Scripting: Ability to write scripts (e.g., shell scripts) for automating tasks and managing ODI and OAS environments.
- Database Knowledge: Experience with Oracle Database concepts, Query optimization and performance tuning.
