Job Details

Job Summary: The Training Team Lead oversees all training initiatives for employees and clients. This role includes planning, creating, scheduling, and delivering training events for employees, client system users, client training specialists (via Train the Trainer training), and prospective clients (via demonstrations). Responsibilities also involve developing technical and marketing documentation, managing video training projects, supervising team activities, and fostering team members professional growth through mentoring, feedback, and performance evaluations aligned with company objectives.

Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite at GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida daily.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality documentation and training materials for proprietary software applications.
  • Create comprehensive training programs and coordinate the scheduling and logistics of training sessions.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee the production and delivery of training videos and multimedia content.
  • Conduct engaging and effective training sessions for clients and internal staff, including Train-the-Trainer sessions.
  • Clearly communicate and interpret complex technical concepts into user-friendly training materials and documentation.
  • Edit and proofread written materials meticulously to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Develop detailed training plans tailored to client and company objectives.
  • Supervise and guide team members, ensuring adherence to quality standards, project deadlines, and company procedures.
  • Evaluate employee job performance, compliance with company policies, and professional development.
  • Assist in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new team members.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring training programs meet their specific objectives.
  • Collaborate regularly with clients, management, and cross-functional teams to align training initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Provide interdepartmental support to enhance customer satisfaction and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills by managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Adapt promptly and positively to changing business requirements and shifting priorities.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs, including e-learning and instructor-led training.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and related processes
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work both independently and collaboratively in team environments with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies
  • Knowledge of group dynamics and classroom management strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with multimedia training technologies, including LCD projectors and related peripheral equipment
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Experience developing training materials (training guides, manuals, video tutorials, etc.).
  • Proficiency with training authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms (WebEx, Zoom, Teams).

Qualifications / Certifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 3 5+ years of experience in corporate training, instructional design, or technical training, specifically related to software or technology products
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience desired. One year of team leadership with 1 year of experience with Geographic Solutions products will be considered.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 15%) and meet TSA requirements
  • This role may require occasional night or weekend work to meet critical deadlines

Desired Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Workforce and/or Unemployment Insurance industries is highly desired
  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+)
  • Instructional Designer Certification
