JOB DESCRIPTION

Role: Telecommunications Technician (Network Analyst Telecom)

Location: Richmond VA

Position Status: W2

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for monitoring and creating plans for building, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cables on the client's network in VA. The position will work independently and as part of a team to ensure our fiber optic network is reliable, efficient, and meets enterprise needs.

Primary job duties include, but not limited to:
Working in and around fiber and radio huts, generation plants, substations, data centers, crew quarters and right of ways.
Creating plans for splicing and testing OPGW and ADSS fiber optic cables
Performing support duties in fiber cable maintenance, relocation and emergency restoration.
Building relationships with all business units within the client
Documenting fiber strand usage and updating cable records in Circuit Vision
Reviewing and analyzing optical system route redundancy
Participating in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms
Support storm recovery duties during disasters.
Work with Transport Team to turn up telecommunication services.
Work closely with all fiber splicers and provide updates on progress

All other duties as needed.
