Job Title: Senior Systems Analyst
Location: Tallahassee, FL (On-site)
Duration: 12 Months (07/01/2025 – 06/30/2026)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 or 1099 or C2C)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support software development and maintenance initiatives for a government agency in Tallahassee, FL. This is a 12-month contract position requiring strong technical, analytical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working across the full software development lifecycle and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Gather and document business and technical requirements.
Create functional specifications, design documents, and technical documentation.
Analyze and model existing business processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with developers, architects, project managers, and client stakeholders.
Perform technical research and recommend tools, solutions, or enhancements.
Provide input into project planning, risk management, and issue tracking.
Design and implement efficient, secure, and scalable software solutions.
Support user acceptance testing, performance testing, and deployment.
Technical Environment:
Languages/Frameworks: Java (J2EE, JSP, EJB, JSF, PrimeFaces), .NET, VBScript, JavaScript
Databases: Oracle 12c+, MS SQL Server 2014+
Tools/Technologies: Jasper Reports, XML, HTML5, JSON, CSS, APIs, Web Services
Platforms: JBoss Application Server, Microsoft ASP/.NET
Other Tools (Preferred): JIRA, Alfresco, Address Standardization Tools, JOSSO, SMTP, IMAP, Unix Shell Scripting
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst on enterprise-level IT projects
Proven experience in requirements gathering, process modeling, and system design
Ability to code and debug using modern programming languages and database technologies
Strong understanding of SDLC and software engineering principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently or collaboratively with diverse technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Familiarity with NEIM standards, JOSSO, Alfresco, Unix scripting
Experience with government or public sector IT environments
