Windows Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Windows Systems Engineer to support our enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Windows patching, Active Directory administration, and Group Policy Objects (GPO), with a solid understanding of endpoint and server operating systems. Familiarity with automation, hardening standards, and security tools is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular Windows OS patching across enterprise systems, including Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
Maintain and administer Microsoft Active Directory, including user and group management, OU structures, and domain services.
Develop and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) for security, compliance, and operational requirements.
Assist with system hardening efforts, leveraging CIS benchmarks where applicable.
Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation of routine tasks, configuration, and system checks.
Support and troubleshoot Amazon Linux and Red Hat (RHEL) systems as needed.
Coordinate and execute changes during off-hours/late hours as required by maintenance windows or business needs.
Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on endpoint compliance, performance, and vulnerability remediation.
Utilize tools such as Tanium (a plus) for endpoint visibility, patch compliance, and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in Windows systems administration, patching, and automation.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and GPO management.
Proficient with PowerShell scripting.
Experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), and basic Linux system administration (Red Hat or Amazon Linux).
Excellent time management and ability to work independently, including during late-hour maintenance windows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to CIS Benchmarks or similar security hardening standards.
Experience using Tanium or similar endpoint management tools.
Familiarity with security operations, endpoint compliance, or vulnerability remediation processes.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-starter with a proactive approach to system health and security.
