Xbox's Platform & Experiences Commerce (XPC) team seeks to empower creators to drive player engagement, retention, and monetization across Xbox and in-game experiences. To help deliver on this goal you'll be a product manager building a vision for and improving the experiences of gamers accessing, browsing, and shopping for games and game related products. You'll coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure all parties are maximizing the value of our partnership with a keen eye towards ensuring that players can acquire the content they want and creator's can bring that content to our ecosystem. You'll partner with internal Microsoft stakeholders to ensure product acquisition flows are optimized, marketing efforts are coordinated and also work closely with internal game studio stakeholders to make sure those products are showcased properly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in management of complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience working with game development teams and game release management.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the gaming industry with a specific focus on game monetization and associated technologies.
  • Track record for working with external companies, in partnership to achieve business goals and objects.


Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and vision that aligns with Microsoft's gaming goals. Drive product innovation and differentiation within the games industry.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal and external development partners, including designers, engineers, artists, and internal and external studios. Manage relationships and ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Execution Excellence: Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring milestones are met, risks are identified and mitigated, and deliverables are of the highest quality. Continuously monitor and improve processes to optimize project outcomes.

Inclusive Leadership: Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that values the contributions of all team members. Promote an atmosphere where different perspectives are respected and considered in decision-making.

Executive Communication: Demonstrate excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior leadership and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status and key insights.

Industry Expertise: Bring a deep understanding of the games industry and the long-term evolution of the Game Monetization space. Use this knowledge to inform product strategy and decision-making.
