Job Details

Our client, a large government integrator located in Washington DC, is looking to hire a Data Migration Lead for a 12-month onsite contract with the chance to extend. responsible for architecting and executing the secure, accurate, and complete migration of legacy mainframe data into a modern web-based platform. This role includes defining transformation logic, mapping strategies, auditability methods, and ensuring ongoing data governance and reporting alignment. The Data Migration Lead supports both cutover planning and long-term data lifecycle requirements in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years' technical leadership in data migration, including IBM mainframe modernization
  • Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • SAFe Agilist or SAFe DevOps Practitioner certification (required); CDMP certification (desired)
  • Deep experience with SDLC and Agile delivery
  • IBM DB2 Mainframe: SQL scripting, backup/restore utilities, JCL
  • Azure SQL: Database setup/management, Managed Instances, SQL Server on Azure VMs
  • Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB (NoSQL/APIs/scaling)
  • Azure Data Factory & ETL: Pipeline design, workflow automation, data integration
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Preferred Skills:

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
