L4 DC Tech - A Side Night

Shift: Night Shift - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Job Brief:
We are looking for an experienced Level 4 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. This role involves advanced break-fix support for GPUs, servers, networking, and cabling, as well as ticket management through ITSM tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience deploying fully populated GPU or network racks in a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable tray installation. Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks across Levels 1-3 as needed, including:
  • Move, inspect, and install servers and switches.
  • Cable equipment per wire maps and ensure proper bundling.
  • Assist with unboxing, prepping, and auditing servers.
  • Troubleshoot servers, isolate issues, and replace defective parts.
  • Update firmware and configure IP addresses.
  • Support network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers.
• Execute break-fix tasks for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
• Manage tickets using ITSM tools.
• Deploy and secure fully populated GPU/network racks, including baying, leveling, grounding, and containment systems.
• Interpret BOMs to verify materials.
• Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructure.
• Handle and install optical modules (SFP, QSFP).
• Scope and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO).
• Rack and stack equipment; patch fiber and copper cables.
• Lead and manage team activities and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety and data center standards.
• Provide documentation and daily updates using tracking tools and photos.
• Travel as required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of deployment and/or break-fix experience in data centers.
• Expertise in GPU/network rack installation and cabling technologies.
• Experience with optical modules and fiber cleaning.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Familiarity with DC power systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Knowledge of telecom engineering designs for enterprise-level data centers.

Location: Onsite in Mt. Pleasant, WI - Team focused on GPU cluster deployments. Multiple roles available across all core shifts (A/B/Days/Nights) on a 3x4x12 schedule.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $46.20 - $46.20/hr.
