Job Details

VACO is seeking a Technical Specialist contractor to provide hands-on desktop support at a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and office teams to ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations. 

THIS JOB IS ON SITE IN JACKSONVILLE, NC  

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot PC hardware and software 

  • Support Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 applications

  • Provide support for iOS devices (iPads, iPhones), Mac PCs

  • Assist with wired and wireless networking (LAN, TCP/IP)

  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Intune

  • Offer support for mobile devices and endpoint security tools (e.g., PC encryption)

  • Utilize Jira for issue tracking, trend analysis, and proactive problem resolution

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance customer service

  • Support business-critical tools such as SAP, VPN, and Two-Factor Authentication

  • Contribute to global IT standards and project-based initiatives


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software

  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Advanced knowledge of PC imaging and software deployment tools

  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal customer relationships


Education & Experience

  • High School diploma required

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of hands-on PC support experience
