Job Overview:

Responsibilities:
- Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
- Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Software Engineering challenges.
- Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring a solid understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
- Develop software for various risk calculation processes as an individual contributor.
- Work directly with business and technology partners to understand requirements.
- Create functional specifications from business specifications.
- Design solutions that integrate well into existing architecture.
- Write high-quality Java code using object-oriented principles and design patterns.
- Create or modify SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, etc.).
- Perform thorough unit testing and document development activities.
- Analyze complex problems requiring a solid grasp of both computing and business/risk domains.
- Work with large data sets, ensuring computational efficiency, parallelism, and scalability.
- Ensure quality, maintainability, and extensibility for supported systems and risk applications.
- Participate in Agile team activities, including daily scrum meetings and sprint planning sessions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
- Proficiency in full-stack development, including Core Java and Angular or React.
- Advanced SQL query skills.
- Preferred experience with Big Data technologies such as Iceberg, Spark, or Hadoop.
- Familiarity with capital markets and stress testing of risk simulation platforms is a plus.
- Strong coding skills and ability to work on maintenance and redesign of applications.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
