BAE Systems - Precision Strike (PS) Business Area - has an immediate opening for a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Systems Engineer on our Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line.The GNC technology is critical to our PGSS guided munitions product line by applying BAE Systems' broad technology base to fill real gaps that Department of Defense customers have in the area of smart weapons. This role within Systems Engineering will help define and develop the GNC features to include overall GNC Algorithms and associated software for the Long Range Precision Guidance Kit LR-PGK) System that supports our US Army customer base. The GNC architecture is a critical component of this system and will enable the warfighter to deliver the appropriate ordnance to its selected target with great accuracy.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Must hold an active Secret clearance
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Understanding and background in RF systems architecture, Link budget analyses and RF propagation models
    • Familiarity with RF receivers and transmitters architectures
    • Modeling, design and test for active and passive RF seeker/ sensor systems
    • Experience with RF data processing algorithms, math, matched filters, and FFT
    • Experience in weapons systems design, missile systems design, or weapons systems performance analysis
    • Coordinate suppliers and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation
    • Ability to flow down requirements to testable modular hardware and software
    • Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities
    • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines
    • Ability to understand and generate CONOPS
    • Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Experience working across the entire Systems Engineering Lifecycle
    • Experience in system architecting of solutions for guided projectiles
    • Experience leading technical teams
    • Develop briefings, white papers, and analysis to support the business capture efforts
    • Familiarity with low cost and low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) design and development
    • Experience with Model Based Agile Engineering (Value Driven Digital Threads) and Agile Mindset principles, practices & processes, and tools & techniques
    • Model Based Systems Engineering experience
    • Background with digital receiver architecture and digital signal processing techniques

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
