Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Software Developer/Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality ServiceNow applications and integrations. This role will work closely with the ServiceNow development team, IT operations team, and business stakeholders to ensure that the ServiceNow platform is aligned with business objectives and is operating at optimal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow applications and integrations, including:
Custom applications and workflows
Integrations with other systems and tools
Data imports and exports
API development and integration
Collaborate with the ServiceNow development team to ensure that all applications and integrations are properly tested and validated
Work with the IT operations team to ensure that all applications and integrations are properly deployed and configured
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure that the ServiceNow platform is aligned with business objectives
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
System design documents
Technical guides
User manuals
Participate in the development and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform roadmap, ensuring that it is aligned with business objectives and IT strategy
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers and engineers
Stay up-to-date with the latest ServiceNow features, functionality, and best practices
ServiceNow Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain ServiceNow applications and integrations using ServiceNow's proprietary scripting language, including:
Business rules
Client scripts
Script includes
Basic Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in ServiceNow development and administration.
Proven track record in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, BCM).
Technical Expertise:
Knowledge of ServiceNow APIs, including REST and SOAP
- Experience with Angular, CSS, and Jelly
- Experience with Now Experience Workspaces
- Familiarity with CSM, ITSM, CSDM and CMDB
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with testing and debugging techniques, including unit testing and integration testing
Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS.
Experience with ServiceNow scripting components such as Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, and UI/UX principles.
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integration tools and protocols (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub).
Experience with ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, BCM, and CMDB.
Certifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, CSM).
ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4).
Methodologies & Practices:
Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Familiarity with ServiceNow development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and unit testing.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Desired skills
Ability to build and maintain the user interface of ServiceNow's Service Portal, using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS.
Experience building custom reusable portal widgets utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS.
Experience building custom applications and has ServiceNow Certified Application Developer cert
