US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
As the EUCOM Network Engineering Lead, you will be required to provide technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned project or tasks for this team including site installation, site expansion and desktop support. At this level, the position is typically responsible for managing multiple tasks or a single large project and supervising up to 10+ employees.

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $124,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.

Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning
- Collaborates with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of various network appliances and infrastructure hardware for ensuring system availability and reliability.
- Corresponds with vendors, Internet service providers, and DISA circuit actions officers to design configurations and develop architectural plans to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the US BICES-X enterprise.
- Assists with network architecture design for new or existing computer systems
- Generates KG, router, and switch configurations for deployable and non-deployable sites accessing US BICES-X
- Analyzes and implements DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure the security of the network architecture.
- Participate in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.
- Provides input on new or existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to network administration.
- May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
- Knowledge of Data Center and Virtualization
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Designs and defines network architecture for new or existing computer systems
- Generates KG, router, and switch configurations for Deployable Nodes accessing US BICES-X in deployed locations
- Analyzes and implements DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure the security of the network architecture.
- Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.
- Drafts and provides input documentation on new or existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to network administration.
- Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.
Operational Management
- Participates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting.
- Manage and assign resources in the resource pool to fulfill the required projects/tasks.
- Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
- Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
- Attends customer meetings and may serve as primary client liaison.
- Interacts with customers for new requirements, responding to RFIs, reporting, etc.
- Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
- Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.
- Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with senior management and other teams to understand business objectives and develop network strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Lead and delegate troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident response.
- Set clear expectations and performance goals for the network team, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices.
- Act as a point of escalation for technical challenges or critical incidents, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related Network Engineering and Administration experience
- Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree- may substitute additional years of experience
- Must possess a current Cisco CCNP ENCOR certification
- Must meet DoDM 8140.03 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features
- Hands-on experience working with HAIPE-based encryption devices, such as KG-175 and KG-250x/255x
- Knowledge and experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) VoIP/collaboration systems
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot Multicast
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot DMVPN and GRE tunnels
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPN tunnels
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work
- Highly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomously
