Role Summary:

Due to ongoing growth and strategic initiatives, Our Client is looking to bring on board a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position plays a crucial role in a variety of projects within electrical engineering, from high-voltage to low-voltage power conversion to avionics and instrumentation. The successful candidate will lead the development of circuit boards from initial concept through to production and certification, helping to propel the company's innovative electric aviation solutions to new heights.
Responsibilities:



  • Define system and component level requirements for electrical systems and components.

  • Lead the conceptual design phase and execute schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.

  • Conduct design activities for various functional areas including SMPS, digital logic circuits, and motor control.

  • Execute FMEA, stress analysis, and tolerance stackup analysis.

  • Oversee design review, release, and manufacturing processes.

  • Plan and conduct DO-160 qualification testing in support of overall aircraft certification.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production of designs.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with component suppliers and vendors.

  • Provide electrical expertise and circuit board design support to other internal teams.



Essential Skills & Experience:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Strong grasp of electrical fundamentals, specifically in switching power supplies and electrical isolation techniques.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably using KiCAD or Altium.

  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and soldering tools.

  • Experience in circuit simulation software such as LTSPICE, PSPICE, or Matlab/Simulink.



Desirable Skills & Experience:



  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • In-depth understanding of high-voltage designs, motor control, and avionics within aerospace or automotive sectors.

  • Familiarity with DO-160 and other hardware qualification standards, as well as experience in EMI mitigation and EMC testing.

  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, and I2C.

  • Experience with configuration management tools and software programming in Python or Matlab.

  • A keen interest in aviation
