Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic Sr. Director of Engineering with expertise in Layer 1 wireless & wireline networks, 5G, LTE, PLTE, and OSP. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with program management, presales, and customer engagement experience, capable of driving RFP/RFI responses, leading engineering teams, and building strong relationships with Tier 1 operators. This role requires a hunter mindset to grow business and shape innovative solutions in a fast-evolving telecom market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering, program management, and project teams.
  • Drive presales, RFP/RFI responses, solution design, and executive presentations.
  • Manage large-scale programs across 5G, LTE, PLTE, and OSP domains.
  • Build and maintain senior customer relationships to expand business opportunities.
  • Champion automation, AI/ML-driven optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Shape strategy and technology roadmap aligned to market and customer priorities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 15+ years in telecom engineering, presales, and program management (required).
  • Strong expertise in wireless/wireline, OSP, 5G, LTE, PLTE.
  • Successful track record working with Tier 1 U.S. operators.
  • Strong leadership, customer-facing, and communication skills.
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications a plus.

  • Customer-first approach with proven success building long-term partnerships.
  • Knowledge of 5G monetization, PLTE for enterprise, OSP modernization, edge/cloud, and automation at scale.
  • Presentable, articulate, and able to simplify complex concepts for executives.
  • Experience in enterprise network deployments is a plus.
  • Excellent time management; organizational; plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; and develops realistic action plans for team
  • Ability to travel as needed to perform duties of the position
