Our client seeks an adept Business Analyst to spearhead requirements for a prominent project, engaging with our expanding team of 35 Project Managers (PMs) and Business Analysts (BAs), as well as various departments within the City of Phoenix.

Job Description:

  • Engage in discussions with Water Department staff to meticulously document requirements and specifications, focusing on enhancing wireless telecom connectivity in City facilities. This entails outlining intended outcomes, features, and functionalities.
  • Craft and formalize functional specifications for enhancements to wireless systems.
  • Ensure the clarity of documented requirements to mitigate scope creep, gold plating, or non-value-added activities.
  • Record business requirements in adherence to industry best practices and the City of Phoenix PMO processes.
  • Develop functional workflow diagrams to encapsulate business goals and high-level scope.
  • Exhibit exemplary customer service, integrity, and dedication to innovation, efficiency, and financially responsible practices.

Experience Required:

  • Proven track record as a Business Analyst with previous IT experience, possessing knowledge of software lifecycle methodologies (waterfall and/or agile).
  • Demonstrated success in translating physical business infrastructure needs into concrete requirements.
  • Proficiency in navigating physical City sites, including construction areas and/or rugged or rural terrain, to ascertain physical site requirements.
  • Capability to formulate requirements according to professional standards (e.g., PMI or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of five years' experience as a business analyst in IT infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with business objectives and industry standards (network security, coverage, bandwidth, etc.).
  • Preferably possesses a blend of technical prowess, leadership qualities, and business analysis skills.
  • Possession of a current and relevant PMI certification (such as PMP, Agile, or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with wireless communications capabilities (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, etc.) is a desirable asset.Top of Form
