Job Title: Backend Software Engineer - Crypto (Contract)
Location: Remote (USA - PST preferred)
Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
Start Date: May 12, 2025
Pay Rate: $60/hr to $70/hr (W2)

About the Role
We are partnering with a leading social media platform to find a Backend Software Engineer with deep blockchain/crypto expertise. You ll join a high-impact User Economy team that is redefining how users earn through the platform's digital monetization products including premium memberships, collectible avatars, and more.
This is a fully remote opportunity requiring strong backend skills and hands-on blockchain experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and scale backend systems that support crypto-based user monetization features.
  • Build and maintain smart contract integrations, token systems, and decentralized infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to shape long-term crypto strategies.
  • Own the full development lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, and operations.
  • Establish backend best practices and mentor junior engineers on crypto fluency.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • 3+ years building scalable distributed systems.
  • Hands-on crypto/blockchain experience: smart contracts, wallets, tokenomics.
  • Proficiency in backend languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
  • Familiarity with protocols like GraphQL, REST, gRPC, or Thrift.
  • Proactive, product-driven, and thrives in fast-paced environments.

Interview Note
Candidates will be required to complete a crypto-focused technical exercise as part of the interview process.
