***Position is remote with minimal in-person engagement in the Raleigh area.***

• custom, client-server, PowerBuilder application used to track work, materials and payments . We also have many Java, C+ and asp.net/C# interfaces with various internal and external systems that need to be maintained and enhanced. Additionally, there is a list of new interfaces and web applications tied to HiCAMS that our clients want to have developed in the future.
• The initial assignment will be to solve a Java upgrade problem in our Red Hat Linux server environment. Our Linux administrator wants to upgrade Linux but the upgrade causes our Java interfaces to fail. We need someone who can diagnose the error/problem and create a solution to allow the upgrade and our Java interfaces to work. We also have some fairly minor logic changes/enhancements to some of our Java interfaces that we need coded/tested/applied.
• This individual should have practical experience with all phases of the standard software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, unit & system testing, quality assurance testing as well as experience with business process transformation. Experience designing and interfacing with SharePoint and web-based solutions are also valuable skills we re seeking.

Required Skills: (10+ years)

• Experience as a PowerBuilder developer using PB10 or more recent versions 10 year.
• Development experience in Java, particularly solving library and compatibility issues between versions.
• Strong SQL skills ( HiCAMS uses a Sybase database but SQL skills in any database platform are acceptable).
• Strong Microsoft Suite experience, particularly Excel
• Experience working in a remote software development environment
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills coupled with an independent, self-motivated work ethic.
• Ability to work with a custom base-class.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users

Preferred Skills:

• Development experience in C#
• Development experience in C+
• Experience coding stored procedures and triggers (any database)
• Experience developing .net applications and API s in a Visual Studio environment
• Data conversion experience
