POSITION SUMMARY

CVS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team and revolutionize our e-commerce search experience. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative Neural Networks, kNN, natural language processing (NLP), learn-to-rank (LTR) solutions to power our search engine, ensuring our customers find the products they need quickly and efficiently.

What you will do
  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to improve search relevance, ranking, and personalization
  • Analyze large-scale user interaction data to identify opportunities for improving search performance
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML models into production search systems using Elasticsearch
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance evaluation of search algorithms and features
  • Develop NLP and deep learning models to enhance query understanding, product categorization, and semantic search
  • Drive innovation in AI-powered search features such as autocomplete, spell correction, and recommendation systems
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices in data science and ML engineering

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience of Data Engineering experience with a preference of at least 2 of those years working in a Data Scientist capacity
  • 2+ years developing and implementing Neural Networks, kNN, natural language processing (NLP), learn-to-rank (LTR) solutions in a production environment
  • Deep understanding of various LTR algorithms, including LambdaMART, RankNet, and LightGBM.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
  • Experience working with large datasets and developing scalable data pipelines
  • Experience with A/B testing and data analysis for measuring model performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms and user behavior modeling
  • Familiarity with LLMs and generative AI applications in search
  • Passion for e-commerce and a deep understanding of user behavior
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines
  • Contributions to open-source search or ML projects
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
