Job Title: Lead Process Automation Engineer Financial Services Operations (Skan.ai & Generative AI Focus)

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid 3 days onsite 2 days remote per week)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Summary:

  • Client is seeking a Lead Process Automation Engineer to drive AI-enabled process discovery and intelligent automation across high-volume financial-services operations (e.g., client servicing, payments, lending operations).
  • You will deploy Skan.ai's vision-based process-intelligence platform, integrate Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, and deliver measurable cost reduction, efficiency gains, and superior employee / customer experience for client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy & administer Skan.ai agents to capture end-to-end desktop journeys; generate granular process maps, metrics, and conformance dashboards.
  • Analyze Skan insights to pinpoint bottlenecks, rework, and automation opportunities; quantify value (cost, cycle time, error rate).
  • Build and maintain an automation roadmap (RPA, low-code workflow, GenAI assistants) aligned to client's Financial Services efficiency goals.
  • Design, develop, and oversee automation solutions-hands-on with RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and Python / low-code scripting.
  • Prototype and embed GenAI capabilities (e.g., chatbots, LLM-generated documentation, summarization) to elevate operations productivity.
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders, Technology partners, and Risk teams to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and change-management requirements.
  • Track KPI improvements post-implementation; prepare benefit-realization reports and drive continuous optimization.
  • Act as a technical mentor and evangelist, promoting best practices in process intelligence and automation across client's Financial Services.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in process improvement / automation engineering with large-scale transformation ownership.
  • Expert in process discovery / mining-preferably Skan.ai (or Celonis, FortressIQ).
  • Proven delivery of RPA / workflow automations in production; strong Python or scripting proficiency.
  • Solid grounding in AI/ML concepts and hands-on experience applying Generative AI / LLMs in enterprise use cases.
  • Working knowledge of financial-services operations (payments, servicing, lending, back-office).
  • Analytical, Lean Six Sigma mindset (Green Belt/Black Belt or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical findings into business value for senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's a plus.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within a large financial institution or consulting for financial-services COO organizations.
  • Prior launch of a process-intelligence program from concept through adoption.
  • Certifications: UiPath Developer, AA Advanced RPA, Lean Six Sigma, AI/ML or GenAI credentials.
  • Familiarity with industry risk, control, and change-management frameworks.
