Story Behind the Need



  • Part of the NexGen TruCare org
  • The team is focused on EDI transactions, specifically EDI 278 transactions.
  • Team is all focused on backend work
  • Agile 2 week sprints
  • Team is contractor heavy. Team is comprised of 5 contractor Engineers and 1 FTE. The goal is to convert this resource to FTE so that there is more than 1 FTE Engineer on the team.
  • This need is not project specific, this position is being opened to properly staff the team/bulk up FTE staff on her team.
  • Not part of a larger hiring initiative.

responsibilities:

Typical Day in the Role



  • Standard hours (9AM-6PM) during contract portion, once they are FTE, they would be on call about once a month. No on-call requirements during the contract portion.
  • Day to day: contractor will be working on new requirements for the existing TruCare system. Everything will be backend. Contractor will also be responsible for working through any prod issues as well as any new projects. For new projects: contractor will be collaborating with Tech Lead and BSAs on the team at the beginning of any new projects. Once the design for the new project(s) is established and broken out into stories, the contractor will work individually on their stories. Stories can be a new project, enhancements or prod issues.
  • Contractor will be meeting with Debra daily for daily stand-up call and will have scheduled 1:1 calls with Debra
  • Majority of technical work will be with the Tech Lead on the team, Tech Lead will be providing guidance on the technical side. Talking with Debra at least once a day to make sure they are focused on the right priorities. Contractor will work with Debra for more of the admin side of things.
  • Opportunity to work with GoLang which is a sought-after technology.
  • Opportunity learn and to work on 278 transactions (industry standard), gaining backend knowledge of electronic transactions. The finance and healthcare industry work heavily with 278 transactions so this position provides opportunity to gain exposure and experience with the EDI 278 piece.
  • Performance indicators: Looking for someone who understands the need for scalability and performance from the 278 system perspective.








qualifications:

Candidate Requirements



  • Education/Certification Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Years of experience required: Senior level, looking for at least 5 years of experience with GoLang.
  • Disqualifiers: Less than 4 years of GoLang would immediately disqualify a candidate. Would consider 4 years if candidate is very strong. 5 years of GoLang would put candidate at the top of the list
  • Additional qualities to look for: Agile environment experience preferred, Kafka experience preferred, MongoDB preferred, AWS cloud experience preferred, if candidate already has 278 EDI experience that would be great but not required.








skills: Top 3 must-have hard skills stack-ranked by importance



  • GoLang 4-5 years' experience
  • Strong RestAPI experience
  • MongoDB is preferred
  • AWS Cloud experience
