Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Compensation to lead the development, implementation, and management of compensation programs that support business goals. This role will partner closely with HR leadership, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure compensation strategies are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation programs including base salary structures, job leveling, and incentive plans.
Oversee the annual compensation planning cycle, including merit increases, promotions, market adjustments, and incentive payouts.
Conduct market analyses and benchmarking using salary surveys and external data to inform pay strategies and recommend adjustments.
Develop and maintain compensation policies and procedures that align with corporate objectives and regulatory standards.
Advise HR business partners, recruiters, and people leaders on compensation-related practices and decisions.
Collaborate with Finance and HR leadership to model compensation scenarios and assess financial impacts.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to compensation and pay equity.
Drive development and maintenance of accurate job descriptions, job classification systems, and job leveling frameworks.
Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and Board of Directors, providing insights into compensation trends and analytics.
Analyze HR data to support workforce planning, decision-making, and broader HR initiatives.
Contribute to broader HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, HR analytics, or a related field.
Deep understanding of compensation theory, practices, and compliance including FLSA, pay equity, and job evaluation methodologies.
Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
Proven ability to manage and influence across functions and levels in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with HRIS systems such as Workday strongly preferred.
Experience working in the technology, real estate, or data center industry is a plus.
Prior experience with sales incentive or executive compensation programs is desirable.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification strongly preferred.
