Job Description: Data Analyst Data Disposition Program
Overview:
The Data Disposition Program is seeking a Data Analyst/Data Specialist to support our efforts in identifying, analyzing, and managing the lifecycle and disposition of systems containing personal information (PI). This role requires a strong understanding of relational databases, upstream and downstream system dependencies, and integration points across complex PG&E s system landscapes.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements like GDPR and CCPA is crucial, as are sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding communication skills enable them to effectively convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate seamlessly with varying teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to evolving environments, maintaining composure under pressure and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Data Analyst with Lineage Experience:
- Strong understanding of data lineage concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in data lineage and metadata management tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation)
- Experience with SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration techniques.
- Knowledge of Data Disposition/retention categories
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
- Ability to document complex data flows and create clear visual representations by working with different stakeholder across functional organization.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications / Proficiency with industry-standard data lineage and metadata management tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation are a plus
- Ability to conduct Kick of sessions with Application stake holders and document the Disposition processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and provide consultation to document upstream and downstream system dependencies for legacy and active systems slated for data disposition.
Evaluate integration points to determine the impact of data removal on related systems and processes.
Collaborate with Data Stewards, Privacy, IRG, Support IT SME and Legal teams to ensure personal information data is identified and handled appropriately.
Utilize lineage tools (preferably Informatica or similar) to trace data flows and confirm business rule mappings across the ecosystem.
Partner with business analysts/project managers and system owners to ensure that data disposition efforts align with retention schedules and regulatory requirements.
Assist in defining technical solutions and developing transition strategies for systems entering end-of-life.
Participate in technical reviews, data mapping, and architecture discussions to inform disposition readiness.
Support documentation efforts including lineage diagrams, system interface maps, and dependency logs.
Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues related to data lineage and integration for in-scope systems.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a technical data integration or database-focused role, preferably PG&E.
Proven understanding of relational database structures and entity relationships.
Experience identifying and documenting upstream/downstream data flows and dependencies.
Strong knowledge of PI data governance, data minimization, and retention strategies.
Hands-on experience with lineage systems such as Informatica, Collibra, or similar tools.
Familiarity with system decommissioning and integration lifecycle management.
Ability to interpret data dictionaries and interface specifications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred:
Background in PG&E experience with data privacy requirements.

Knowledge of data quality frameworks.
