Dexian has an immediate opportunity available with our premier aerospace customer for a Desktop Technician providing Level 2 support for various services. As a member of the desktop support / break-fix team, the Desktop Technician will have a primary focus on Audio Visual Support (AV).

Audio Visual duties include providing phone support for analog and digital gateways, phone configuration, secure phones, ring down lines, and cross connects. The Desktop Technician will coordinate Centrex and other telephone and data circuit activities including requirements gathering and service fulfillment. Other responsibilities include adds, moves, and change activity with telephone service providers, client contractors and employees.

The Desktop Technician shall be responsible for:



  • Providing maintenance of computing devices, associated peripherals, and approved software; installation and maintenance of hardware and software.

  • Installation of upgrades (memory, hard drives, etc.) and peripheral devices.

  • Providing appropriate office support to coordinate and schedule new equipment installations.

  • Monitoring and updating ServiceNow to ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and make updates to ServiceNow asset records.

  • Assisting in coordinating, scheduling, and performing relocations and re-installations of equipment.

  • Performing periodic physical audits of end user computing devices to compare with ServiceNow records (deployment location, storage location, and assignee information).

  • Supporting on-premises cable plant consisting of MDF, MPOE, and building terminals (IDF).

  • Providing technical expertise in Unified Communications technologies including telephony, H.323 or SIP based telephony and video endpoints, video, VoIP and time division multiplex (TDM) deployment.

  • Administering and maintaining the call manager(s). Tasks may include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Configure and add IP phones, create end users, create agents in UCCX, understanding of Call Search Spaces, Partitions, Route Patterns, configure ports on VG's and cross connect.

    • Cross connects wires in distribution blocks, extend circuits using the internal network cabling infrastructure, circuit identification at MPOE, able to use tools such as butt set, punch tools, toner, and probe.




JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:



  • Six (6) + years' experience in supporting enterprise level PCs as an IT Desktop (Desk-Side) or Help Desk Technician.

  • Able to support systems on both classified and unclassified networks.

  • Familiarity with security requirements (ICD 503, DFARS, etc.).

  • Advanced understanding of:

    • Active Directory (heavy account management).

    • UNIX (account management, permissions, etc.).

    • McAfee suite of security products (i.e., ENS, DLP, MDE).

    • Hardware support experience (i.e., swapping hard drive, fan, motherboard).

    • Troubleshooting HP systems.

    • Maintaining/troubleshooting VoIP devices (i.e., Cisco Call Manager/Unity).

    • Installing/supporting/ troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS devices, MS Office, network connectivity issues, etc., and perform system (re)imaging using LANDesk or other imaging technologies.

    • Data transfers using USMT.

    • Inventory management, shipping and receiving, asset management including warehouse processes for shipping/receiving packages, asset tags, unboxing, and return merchandise authorization (RMA) tracking.

    • ServiceNow ticketing system.



  • Preferred working knowledge of

    • Audio, video, control, and communications systems.

    • UCCX script editor, Finesse, IVR call flow.



  • Deep understanding of VoIP, MGoogle Cloud Platform, H.323, and SIP trunk.



This position requires an active Department of Defense security clearance at the Top-Secret (TS) level due upon hiring, with ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) CI Polygraph.



EDUCATION:



  • Associate degree in IT / Computer Sciences, preferred.

  • Current IAT Level-2 Technical Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent).

  • Audio, video conferencing, or control equipment manufacturer certifications, a plus (Polycom, AMX, Crestron, CUCM, Unity Connection, UCCX environment (version 11.x). LINUX OS's, VMware ESX, Windows Server 2012 R2).


LOCATION:



  • This is a fulltime/onsite position that will split time between the client's two facilities located at Arlington, VA (Crystal City) and Chantilly, VA. Candidate must be able to commute to both facilities and/or between facilities as needed.


COMPENSATION:



  • Dexian reasonably expects to offer $40.47/hour to $47.61/hour plus benefits to include health, vision and dental insurance, matching 401k, and generous PTO.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate details in a professional manner.

  • Must embrace technology to promote efficient operations.

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs.
