Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Network and Security Platform Management team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, high-performance network infrastructures supporting critical compute and research workflows. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise and play a key role in driving automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across our global estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient data center network infrastructure leveraging Cisco and Arista technologies.
- Lead complex troubleshooting and resolution efforts across routing, switching, firewalls, and WAN infrastructure.
- Automate network operational tasks using tools such as Python, Ansible, Git, and Jinja2.
- Implement and manage WAN architectures, including IOS-XR, SD-WAN, segment routing, and multi-tenant designs.
- Proactively monitor and optimize network health and performance using modern observability tools.
- Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD processes for network provisioning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Network Engineering, Data Center, Security, and DevOps teams to align on infrastructure strategies.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and documentation practices.
- Perform regular network audits, ensuring compliance with internal standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in engineering and operating large-scale enterprise or data center networks.
- Strong expertise with Cisco and Arista platforms, including IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, and EOS.
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, and MPLS.
- Practical experience in WAN technologies, including SD-WAN, segment routing, and multi-tenancy.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Ansible, Jinja2, and Git.
- Strong diagnostic skills, including packet analysis and network performance tuning.
- Experience with modern network monitoring and predictive analytics tools.
- Comfortable working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
- CCNP or equivalent certification preferred; CCIE or other advanced certifications are highly desirable.
Compensation
