Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Spring 2026 through 2027 academic year Systems Engineer (Configuration & Data Management) Intern. In this role, you will:
Build Real Solutions - by creating interactive, dynamic dashboards on the 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) Platform that guide leadership decisions in real-time. Your work will drive performance tracking, transparency, and performance excellence across our Black Hawk, Naval Hawk, and Coast Guard programs.
Turn Data Into Strategy - by transforming complex engineering data into visual stories that help our teams prioritize, predict risks, and accelerate engineering performance.
Innovate Every Day - by serving as a pioneer for automation opportunities and suggesting digital improvements that elevate how our Configuration Management team interacts with 3DX.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or beginner knowledge of PLM systems, engineering records such as drawings, engineering changes, etc., and is interested in learning more about the different programs across Configuration Management to gain valuable experience in the engineering field.
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information, Sciences and Technology, or STEM related degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated potential to work in a team environment.
- Prior coursework in engineering practices and principles, or other related coursework
-Demonstrated ability to extract, clean, and analyze large data sets using tools such as Excel or SQL to identify trends or insights with 95% accuracy within established project timelines.
-Experience developing and presenting metrics to leadership on at least a monthly basis, ensuring that insights directly inform process improvements or other business decisions.
-Demonstrate a proven understanding of data linkages across multiple systems with the ability to map and validate datasets to ensure data integrity and consistency.
-Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders through use of visual reporting tools, such as Tableau.

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
