Job Details

We are seeking a Building Automation Programmer that will play a key role in the design, programming, and delivery of complex Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving, optimizing building performance, and creating seamless user experiences through advanced control systems.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure that every system is programmed, tested, and commissioned to meet project goals, industry standards, and client expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Develop BAS control programs and system graphics that align with project scope, design intent, and performance requirements.
  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot building automation systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and field teams to resolve technical questions and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform QA/QC on programs and graphics to meet company standards and client needs.
  • Support project schedules by tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assist with system start-up, checkout, and commissioning activities.
  • Deliver operator training for end-users, ensuring they understand system operations and capabilities.
  • Update and maintain documentation, ensuring all programming reflects As-Built conditions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers while helping to develop programming best practices.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3-5+ years of programming experience with Building Automation Systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems as they relate to controls.
  • Proficiency with programming principles and control system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with networking (TCP/IP) and communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Distech, Schneider, Honeywell or similar BAS ecosystems.
  • Experience with function block programming; database or server configuration knowledge a plus.
