job summary:

The IT Support Specialist position provides on-demand technology assistance and support for staff and users. Duties include but are not limited to responding to technical support tickets, gathering information needed, setting up and onboarding technology equipment, IT Procurement assistance, tracking data needs, and communicating effectively with clients. IT Support Specialists will work collaboratively in a small, team-based environment and should exhibit a self-directed, service-oriented mindset.

responsibilities:


  • Provide first-level technical support to customers via phone, email, and chat.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Guide customers through problem-solving steps and remote assistance.
  • Document customer interactions, issues, and resolutions accurately in the support ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure their technical issues are resolved.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues and resolutions.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and knowledge articles.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance technical skills and product knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Identify and report recurring issues and trends to the development and product teams.
  • Assist with testing and deployment of new products and features as needed.


qualifications:


  • 1-4 years of experience in a technical support environment. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field counts towards years of experience.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Strong understanding of [mention specific operating systems, software applications, or technologies relevant to the role, e.g., Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office Suite, networking protocols].
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bonus points: certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+.

  • Active Directory, User Management, Cloud Technologies, and Group Policy
