Technical Writer and Trainer
The Opportunity:

We're seeking a Technical Writer / Trainer to lead documentation and training efforts for the Navy's Records Management (RM) Cloud Application-a rapidly deployed system supporting critical DoD initiatives.
You'll work closely with stakeholders to capture system specifications, translate complex processes into accessible user guides, and align documentation with federal and Navy policies. Your work will ensure continuity of knowledge across personnel transitions and program evolution, bridging the gap between technical implementation and user understanding.
You understand that great communicators combine technical fluency with instructional clarity. You'll produce fleet-facing slick sheets, training materials, and web-based documentation that drive adoption and enhance system usability. As a trainer, you'll help users confidently navigate the system through hands-on guidance and well-crafted learning resources. With deep experience in DoD IT environments, records management, and modern content development tools, you'll help transform a fast-moving cloud application into a well-documented, scalable solutions.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience producing technical documentation for large-scale IT or cloud applications
- 5+ years of experience with DoD IT project management
- Experience in developing comprehensive documentation and training materials to ensure continuity of knowledge and operations through personnel changes and program transitions
- Experience in authoring and developing user guides, training materials, and system specifications for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience as a technical writer
- Ability to translate technical details into clear and actionable instructions
- Ability to understand and describe application process links to federal, DoD, or Navy policies, standards, and compliance requirements
- Ability to publish in multiple formats, including PDF deliverables, SharePoint Pages, and HTML-based web documentation
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience as a technical writer for the Navy
- Experience producing documentation for records management systems or other compliance-driven enterprise applications
- Experience as a knowledge manager
- Knowledge of Navy instructions, policies, and records management (RM) processes
- Knowledge of modern content development tools
