We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead transformative technology initiatives across HR systems and broader Corporate Operations functions, including Risk, Safety, Purchasing, Engineering, and Legal. This role will focus on modernization and integration efforts involving platforms such as Oracle HCM and JD Edwards (JDE), ensuring seamless collaboration between IT and Business Operations. Reporting to the Director of Project Portfolio Management (PMO), the ideal candidate will have 7+ years of project management experience, including successful delivery in mid-sized company transformations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution of technology initiatives across HR and Corporate Operations systems.

  • Collaborate with sponsors, business owners, analysts, and SMEs to define project scope, business case, ROI, resource needs, and vendor deliverables.

  • Ensure alignment with PMO standards and methodologies.

  • Leverage deep knowledge of HR/IS systems to partner with stakeholders in organizing and documenting project scope, goals, ROI, resource requirements, vendor services, and deliverables, including Change Management.

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring team members are informed of timelines and dependencies.

  • Oversee upgrades and integrations of HR/IS and Corporate Operations systems to improve data quality, usability, and compliance.

  • Drive improvements in onboarding and offboarding processes through system enhancements.

  • Communicate proactively with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated execution, risk mitigation, and transparency.

  • Support Change Management efforts including communications, training, and deployment of new processes.

  • Utilize productivity and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Box, Google Workspace, Zoom, Lucidchart, PowerPoint, and Jira.

  • Partner with IT QA to ensure quality delivery through test plans and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Uphold project management best practices including scope, risk, issue, decision, schedule, and dependency management.

  • Ensure business requirements are translated into functional and technical deliverables with traceability to scope.

  • Collaborate with system managers to develop "Transition to Support" plans and confirm ROI achievement for PMO tracking.

  • Conduct project health assessments and lessons learned reviews.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, MIS, or related field.

  • Project Management certification (PMP preferred; Prince2 or Agile Scrum/Product a plus).

  • Strong understanding of HR/IS systems (preferably Oracle HCM), integrations, and data handling best practices.

  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with Smartsheet, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools; ability to track and report project progress via dashboards.

  • Familiarity with Change Management frameworks (PROSCI, ADKAR preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with discretion and confidentiality.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Visual and auditory acuity required for computer work and phone communication.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and communicate effectively.

  • Onsite attendance required at headquarters in Pasadena, CA.


Work Schedule


This is a temporary, contract, non-exempt position. Workdays are Monday through Friday, typically between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Occasional after-hours work may be required to support critical project milestones.
