Data Architect

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Architect with strong experience designing and
building AWS-based data lake and Snowflake architectures for enterprise-scale financial
systems. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data modeling,
integration, governance, and analytics with hands-on cloud implementation skills in AWS and
Snowflake environments.
You will play a key role in modernizing legacy data platforms, establishing scalable data
foundations, and supporting AI-driven analytics and digital transformation initiatives for one of
ClarksTech s strategic financial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end data architecture leveraging AWS Data Lake,
Snowflake, and modern data engineering frameworks.
Define and build data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines using
AWS Glue, Step Functions, and Airflow.
Architect and optimize Snowflake environments for performance, scalability, and cost
efficiency.
Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models (OLTP, OLAP,
dimensional, and data vault).
Partner with business, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business
requirements into robust data solutions.
Define data governance, security, and lineage frameworks aligned with enterprise
compliance standards (SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
Lead data modernization and migration initiatives from legacy RDBMS and on-prem
data warehouses to AWS/Snowflake.
Work closely with enterprise architects to integrate data solutions with core banking,
payments, and risk platforms.
Establish best practices for CI/CD, versioning, and environment management of
data assets.
Required Skills & Experience
10-15+ years of experience in Data Architecture or Data Engineering roles.
Proven expertise in AWS Cloud Data Ecosystem S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena,
Lambda, Step Functions, and IAM.
Hands-on experience designing and managing Snowflake data warehouse
environments.
Strong SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT design skills using Informatica, Ab Initio, Talend, or
AWS Glue.
Solid understanding of data lake and lakehouse architectures, metadata
management, and schema evolution.
Deep experience with financial data models (e.g., payments, cards, accounts,
transactions, risk scoring).
Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or dbt.
Familiarity with data governance and cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, or AWS
Glue Data Catalog).
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in banking, payment processing, or financial services environments.
Working knowledge of streaming and real-time data integration (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark
Streaming).
Certifications in AWS Data Analytics Specialty or Snowflake SnowPro.
Experience with machine learning data pipelines or AI model data prep a plus.
Education
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a
related technical discipline.
